Fried Tushi, White Wushi

Okay, so this was absolutely hilarious!! Last night, after work and my small group, we grabbed a bite of sushi at Bodelli Sushi in Cool Springs with Steve & Hope. We got several rolls and between the 4 of us, devoured them pretty well. They were delicious, too. Well, Steve & Jordan decide that they can handle one more, so Steve, being the sushi lover he is, asks the Sushi Chef to just make him a chef's special, meaning, whatever he likes and would recommend, just nothing way too spicy and nothing fried.

So, we wait....for a while, and you can just see that this chef is totally putting time and energy into this sushi creation. We're just talking and waiting... the chef calls out to us and asks if we mind some "fried tushi," in it. Of course, (it sends us rolling, a little immature, but seriously it was funny) that's not what he said, but in a thick accent, that's what it sounded like. "Sure," steve shrugs, "that's fine." So we wait a few more minutes....and then, all of the sudden, we see him piling, and I mean piling on whipped cream from a can. WHAT?! We are all completely floored and cracking up wondering what in the world is going on. So finally, finally, the chef brings over this HUGE, and I mean HUGE plate of sushi, topped with strawberries and WHIPPED CREAM!! I CANNOT believe I didn't get a picture. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. And bless his heart, the chef was so pleased with himself.

And so we ate it....it was definitely odd, and we could barely hold ourselves together...thinking about sushi of "fried tushi" and "white Wushi" (what we affectionately called the whipped cream.) Steve brought up a good point that next time we ask for chef's special and tell them nothing fried or too spicy, don't forget to tell them to hold the whipped cream, too!!
