My sister in law just made me laugh out loud! When we were in Florida last week, she and I were laughing one day because we were talking about driving around in high school, listening to Shania Twain....guys can't do it. And I can't do it for too long...but I have many memories of driving around with my friends, blaring it and singing it at the top of our lungs. Just something that made us laugh! So Erin treated me this morning to a voice mail and serenaded me! A great start to my morning! hah!

We had a great trip to Florida. I'm pretty pressed for time this morning, so not a lot of time to go into detail, but I can pretty much sum it up to say I love my family and my niece, Hope is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Enjoy my pictures and have a wonderful fabulous chilly day! :-)

Ten things I loved about our trip to Tucson:

1. Incredible gourmet breakfasts served on Spode china. (ex: fresh fruit with granola and yogurt & a dutch quiche with gouda cheese and spinach or pinapple bake & southwestern egg bake. mmm, mmm, mmmm)

2. Jamba Juice- all I need to say!

3. All sorts of Cacti- so cool! (these are the barrel and saguaro cacti)

4. Tombstone- the town and the movie!! "I'm your Huckleberry!"

5. Javelina's- they are too cool and don't be mistaken- they are NOT pigs :-)

6. Mountains, mountains and more mountains! I love 'em!

7. Lots of Mexican food.....alright for rice and beans! Yum, yum!

8. The Suncatcher Inn- the bed & breakfast we stayed at.

9. INCREDIBLE HIKES in the Saguaro National Park. These were seriously some of the major highlights of my trip!

10. Lots of great time with family and being thankful for Erin feeling better!

Tucson Update!!

We are having a great time in Tucson Arizona. It's a neat place- very deserty- very cool. Don't have time (well, not really true- just don't want to right now) to fully update so here are some pictures to enjoy, and I'll tell you about them later.

These are a little late- but as they say- better late than never, right! :-)

Pictures from Thanksgiving

Saturday, October 27, 2007

We're currently sitting in the Orlando airport. We finally discovered a great little table right next to an outlet where we can sit and do things we need to on our computers. We are headed back to Tennessee after a wonderful work week in Florida. We had a great time last night watching old home movies and just hangin' out...and we'll see them in a short 3 weeks for Thanksgiving-which is going to be so much fun. I get BOTH sides of the family! :-) Super wonderful.

Jordan's all excited because it looks like "true" fall weather has finally hit Tennessee! I'm pretty stoked too- actually might use the fireplace and put my summer clothes away...fun, fun!

I keep meaning to post...sorry for the forgetfulness! We've had a good couple of weeks, been to Florida and back, all sorts of fun stuff!

We were in Naples working last week! It was a fun week, got to see Erin & Dan, everyone in the office, Grandpa Chalker and of course Hope & Steve. The week flew by and now we find ourselves back in Tennessee.

I can hardly believe it's almost October! Where did September go??? My goodness...I am really looking forward to October though. I'm believin' for wonderful fall weather! I know it can get there. We're actually going to get to go to Fall Festival in Evansville this year. We're heading up there on Sunday for one or two nights- we're pretty excited about it. We'll also be heading to the Lakehouse in a few weeks and then back to Florida the last week of October. Traveling definitely keeps us on our toes...having to stay up to speed on different things which takes a little more work, but it's totally worth it.

Got to see Merari & Ian a little bit last night which was wonderful. I was at a few meetings at the Buchanan's and needed a ride home b/c Jordan had dropped me off, so Merari was kind enough to bring me home. Ian was here with Jordan, so the 4 of us chatted a while, made some cookies, and watched a little of the game before they left and we went to bed too late- oh well.

I actually woke up very refreshed this morning despite having less sleep than normal, so I got my shoes on and went for a morning run. So glad I did- it was beautiful and well worth it!

Alright- gotta go- have a great Tuesday!

Fantasy Football rank: 3 of 10 (lost by 1 stinkin' point this week)

Hey everyone- finally- here you go....some pictures from Lake Tahoe. (only a month later) OH well, better late than never right? If you ever get the chance to go, take it! It's one of the most beautiful places I've seen.

Big thanks to Hope and Steve for allowing us to take this trip! It was amazing!

Update on week in Florida

Well, I returned Saturday at 3ish, minus one husband from Florida. No, no, nothing bad happened :-) We just determined that it would be best for Jordan to stay one more week to do some more insurance training and be in the office with his dad. So, we got some things covered for the weekend, made some switches, changed his flight from Saturday to this Friday, and I came home by myself.

The trip was great, but mostly consisted of a lot of work. We found ourselves in the office late pretty much each night, but were still able to squeeze in some family time, some Jack Bauer time and some American idol time. I am SO wanting Melinda to win. She has the most incredible voice I think I've ever heard as well as being a person who truly loves Jesus, and it shows all over her. And I think that's amazing. Lots of people claim to be "Christians" but there are few in the entertainment biz on whom it really shows. I'm totally behind her!

Of course I had to go to Teavana, even though we have our own in Nashville now, it's very out of my way and very difficult for me to find time to get to Green Hills. I guess it's a good thing I no longer work in Maryland Farms, because I would be finding a way to get down there several times a week. I bought a couple new teas: Apple Lemon Pomegranate and Vermont Maple and they are both SO SO SO good. And I restocked my Rooibos Chai & Rooibois Sweet Amore.

It was a great trip- very productive, and now I am back gome and thick in the swing of things, preparing for camp and travel, etc.

Only a week and a few days until our big Lake Tahoe trip! Woohoo- can't wait!

sooooo looong!

I am bad, bad, bad. I've meant to blog all week, but frankly- I've been working a lot in the office. Haven't had time. We're leaving Florida tomorrow around noon, so I'll try and catch you all up on everything tomorrow either from the Memphis or Ft. Myers' airports or when we get home.

(And I just upset my dear husband who was really wanting to play doubles tennis in the morning before we left but I totally forgot to bring my tennis shoes. Big oops! I'm married to Jordan Roe and I forgot my tennis shoes- what gives!)

Today is a CRAZY day! It's so funny how the day before a big trip, there is so much to get done! Last night J & I made a stop over to the Maat's house- they are a precious family in our church who are moving to Lansing, MI on Dec. 28th. They have two daughters- one is in 7th and the other in 8th and boy are we ever going to miss them! So we hung out for a while and then after a confusing bout with Frank & Wendy on the phone, went home and Robby brought some dinner and gifts for us- he's so sweet. We had dinner and Frank Borst stopped by to give us something, then R & J took off to hang out a bit and I went into frenzy cleaning mode. I think I was up until midnight cleaning- I was just on a roll!

Today is awesome, but so full! I have been trying to work with the travel agent for Jordan and Steve's flights- they get to go to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Steve got the trip b/c Allstate is the main sponsor of the bowl and Jordan is SO excited- he's really been enjoying Notre Dame football this year! I'm so pumped they get to go! I'll just have to look for 'em on TV.

Good Morning World!

We're having a great time in Florida. The weather has been beautiful, but it does look like possible rain tonight. Jordan and I have both been working hard- I've been learning a lot in the office, but it seems like the more I learn, the more I realize there is for me to learn...oh well!! I have something to look forward to, right? :-) I have been enjoying my time in the office with Steve and my brother in law, Dan and the rest of the staff there. It's a great office and a great group of people. It's nice to actually see them as opposed to just talking to them on the phone or sending an email.

Steve & Jordan are at the tennis courts and Hope is walking- I'm about to do a little reading before we head into the office. Today is our last day here, but we'll be back December 21st for Christmas. We've had a great time. Last night, Erin & Hope and I went to a women's Christmas Dinner at their church, which was so much fun. Each table was decorated differently, with each hostess bringing china and decor, as well as little treats for each of the ladies. We had dinner and listened to comedian/singer Kay Dekalb Smith, who was delightful- she's actually from Nashville. It was great!

Sorry I don't have any pictures. I'll hopefully get one at lunch today with Nathan and Bethany and cute little Jaxon. Talk to you soon!

Full Weekends and Florida Fun

This weekend was amazing- our first full weekend in the new home and it did NOT disappoint! Friday, Jordan and I went to my cousin Will's 8th birthday party. Chris & Ian made it so much fun- dressed in camo and making those little boys laugh SO hard! It was amazing :-) Will had a wonderful time, although he did get an air soft rifle, which is frightening! After Refuge, Ferris, Janelle, Kyle & Robby came over so K&J could see the house. It was such a fun time. We love having people in our home.

Saturday I woke up at 6:30am to go garage sale shopping with Tracy, Maria & Jenny! So fun! I actually got some great deals: designer jeans for $12, a GREAT totally cute coat for 50 cents, and a Pampered Chef cookie press for $8. It was wonderful and we all found something worthwhile. Afterwards, I went up to Brentwood and met Mom to go to the Christmas Village for a couple of hours. It was so much fun- we tasted and looked and Mom got some really cute things!! Saturday night was U-turn Merge in Spring Hill and it was SO great!!! Jordan and I are so excited about what God is doing in Spring Hill with the youth there. There's lots to see and we have vision for a lot of great things, but God is definitely doing that.

Sunday was wonderful!! Service was awesome and worship was strong. I love what God's doing in Spring Hill- it's totally Newsong and it's just an amazing extension of family. After service, several people came over to pray over our house which was such a blessing! People had some amazing visions and words from the Lord that they spoke over the home and just believing for big things that God wants to do. We ended up having a great evening with a little NFL, frisbee, friends stopping by and relaxing. Jessica came by later and went with me to pick up a quick dinner.

I am now sitting in my wonderful in-laws' home in Naples, Florida. Jordan and I are here for the week so that I can do some more training and stuff with Steve in the office. It's going to be a wonderful week and I'm sure that there will be some wonderful stories to share!
